About the role

Working as part of tight crew and reporting to mobile maintenance supervisor, you'll apply your auto electrical expertise to ensure our equipment operates reliably and efficiently across breakdown and workshop jobs. Key responsibilities include:

Execute planned and reactive maintenance tasks on mining equipment
Work with Sandvik loaders, development drills, production drills, Atlas Copco compressors, generators and pumps
Conduct routine repairs and servicing in workshop and field environments
Maintain health, safety and regulatory compliance standards
Identify potential risks throughout the operation
Share technical knowledge and best practices with team members

About you

The ideal candidate will have a nationally accredited Automotive Electrical Trade Certificate, a C-class driver’s license, and an Automotive Cert II Air Conditioning license with regulatory knowledge. Qualifications such as S1, S2, S3, and HRWL for forklift and OH Gantry Crane are highly regarded. Mining industry experience is essential, along with expertise in OEM diagnostic tools, fault-finding, and adjusting parameters. You must be proficient in reading auto electrical schematics, diagnosing air-conditioning faults, and conducting system repairs. You should be capable of performing planned maintenance, breakdown repairs on underground and heavy surface equipment, and working with automation and autonomous machinery. Strong risk assessment skills and computer proficiency in CMMS, MS Word, Excel, and email are required. Experience with Normet, Sandvik, CAT, and Epiroc machinery is highly desirable. The successful candidate will be a strong communicator, decision-maker, and team player who thrives in high-performing environments.

PURPOSE

To safely execute electrical maintenance work according to the prescribed standards ensuring the safety of self, others and Machine/Equipment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes.
Ensure that maintenance objectives are effectively communicated to optimize plant availability.

About the Job :

Operating in a Northern British Columbia mining environment on a two week in/two week out shift rotation, the Site Services Maintenance (Red Seal Tradesperson) is an integral part of the Site Services Operations at the Silvertip Operation. Solid work ethics, regular attendance, and punctuality are essential requirements for this position

Responsibilities:

Perform pre-operational checks and operate equipment according to Safe Operating Procedures.
Operate heavy motorized equipment used in earth moving operations including, but not limited to, tanker, dozer, scraper, loader, grader, mobile compost mixer, 18-wheel tractor-trailer, truck, crane, excavator, and other equipment to support a variety of operations at the mine site.
May build, level and excavate land surfaces.
Gather and load dirt and waste products from job sites onto trucks and transport them to the appropriate location.
Operate a water tanker and similar equipment for dust control and dirt compaction.
Monitor equipment and processes and ensure equipment deficiencies and operational issues are reported clearly.
Perform preventive maintenance on equipment as required including fluid and filter changes and parts lubrication.
Assist with disassembling and reassembling screeners/conveyors.
Conduct trouble shooting activities when problems arise.
Complete Operator Report Sheets and Daily Logbooks.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

Experience in operating the varied equipment required for the position including but not limited to bobcat, wheel loader, zoom boom and manlifts.
Mining industry experiences desired.
Valid class 5 drivers’ license.
Physically fit to perform the duties of the position.
Must have a Red Seal journeyman ticket in at least one of the following: Carpentry, Plumbing, Gas fitter, Oil burner mechanic, Millwright.
Experience in multi-trade building maintenance is essential, with demonstrated skills in diagnostic and preventative maintenance.
Experience in maintaining and repairing gas-fired and oil-fired appliances is required, aligned with current Canadian safety codes.
Experience maintaining and repairing water and sewer systems (plumbing).
Basic carpentry skills are required.
Ability to maintain and repair oil burning equipment (Frost fighters).

Additional Information:

Willing to work a two-week rotation schedule, with 12-hour shifts per day at a remote camp.

About The Role

We are currently seeking safety focused Mechanical Fitters to join our Fixed plant team on a Dynamic 182 roster flying from Perth. A Dynamic 182 roster is similar to a shutdown roster made up of 182 shifts a year, shifts will be dependant on demand but because you will be a permanent employee you still receive a consistent fortnightly pay regardless of the amount of shifts you work.

Key responsibilities:

Inspection, servicing, adjustment, troubleshooting and repair of the processing plant
Ensuring clear communication across team members and to the Supervisor in regards to downtime and trouble area
Removing and installation of hard skirts, soft skirts, billets, liners, idler frames, structural steel, deflectors, chutes, screens, and vibe feeders
Carrying out corrective and breakdown maintenance tasks - motor replacements, b- belts and pulleys, dust suppression and crusher main frame liners
General routine inspections of crushers, skirts, idlers, plant raw water (pumps, valves and piping)
Following specific maintenance strategies and procedures
Overriding commitment to BHP Charter, health, safety, environment, and sustainable development
Ensuring that all documentation and data entry is accurately completed

About You

What You Will Do

Perform duties related to assembly, maintenance, and repair of boilers, pressure vessels, tanks and vats by performing a variety of complex welding processes such as electric resistance, oxy acetylene or arc torches.
Perform routine maintenance activities.
Develop solutions for various maintenance situations.
Complete Work Orders and other maintenance documentation.
Train and mentor maintenance employees.
Perform other tasks as assigned.

What You Bring To Freeport

Two (2) years of experience in the crafts of Welder/Boilermaker or a combination of education and experience
Proficiency in welding/cutting.
Must have completed academic and practical competencies required (this includes Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP Exists) and have experience demonstrating the required aptitude. The selected candidate shall demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and skills while also passing a written assessment where required. This exam is based on skills/abilities and/or academic knowledge; as well as safety.
Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English.
Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards.

Ensure that plant and equipment is maintained to a high level

We are currently on the hunt for experienced Heavy Deisel Fitters for our Dawson Mine within our Field Maintenance team, in Moura, QLD.

Working within the Maintenance team you will enjoy the challenge of maintaining equipment, resolving breakdowns, diagnosing problems, implementing preventative maintenance, in the field.

Your extensive experience working with heavy mobile equipment which this role will apply it to large hydraulic excavators, drills, draglines, electric rope shovels and various mine site equipment will aid your success in this role.

Your key responsibilities are:

Inspect, diagnose, service and repair, machines like Draglines, Electric Rope Shovels, 600t & 260t Hydraulic Excavators, Overburden Drills and various ancillary equipment.
Utilise computerised maintenance management systems
Maintaining a high level of housekeeping in the workshops
Undertaking training and upskilling as required;
Attending to breakdowns and problem diagnosing;
Scheduled maintenance and installations;
Experience with fault finding;
Work independently where required but within a team environment;
Experience in facilitating and participating in job risk assessments
Knowledge of SAP is desirable.

Job Summary

The Heavy Equipment Mechanic/Welder is responsible for maintaining and repairing a fleet of mining equipment, as well as performing structural welding and fabrication tasks as needed. While this role ideally suits an experienced mechanic with strong welding capabilities, we welcome applicants with significant experience in either field and a willingness to further develop both skill sets.

The position requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, welding techniques, and safety practices while ensuring minimal downtime for equipment and compliance with Kinross' safety and operational standards.

Work Schedule
This position follows a rotating 5/4 schedule, alternating between day and night shifts. Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed is required.

Essential Functions

Adhere to all MSHA and Bald Mountain safety policies and procedures.
Perform mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on mobile mining equipment, including haul trucks, graders, dozers, water trucks, shovels, and drills.
Conduct structural welding and fabrication on heavy equipment, including crack repair and metal buildup in line with OEM or AWS welding procedures.

Qualifications and Skill Requirements

Welding experience required; formal certification preferred but not required.
Ability to safely perform basic welding tasks using arc, MIG, TIG, and oxyacetylene techniques.
Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical and welding schematics.

Job Description

Responsible for the execution of electrical, instrumentation, DCS equipment inspection tasks, timely troubleshooting and feedback of equipment faults
Responsible for daily maintenance, emergency repair, maintenance, motor lubrication, instrument calibration and other tasks, responsible for maintenance and lubrication quality.
Responsible for plant power system maintenance, master motor, frequency converter, soft starter maintenance skills; Master the use of instruments and troubleshooting, quickly solve equipment failures.
Complete technical reform as required to improve equipment reliability. Assist new project installation, commissioning, acceptance and other work.
Fill in maintenance and inspection records on time and improve maintenance files.
Comply with the company's rules and regulations and implement the company's safety procedures.
Understand the occupational health, safety, environmental protection and fire protection hazard factors in the workplace, and correctly wear and use a variety of labor protection products.
Participate in emergency drills to strengthen accident prevention and emergency handling capabilities.
Assist and support equipment reliability work.
Cooperate with equipment fault handling and analysis.
Actively participate in various meetings, training and activities organized by the company and departments.
According to the requirements of the company and department, do a good job in related security, 5S and TPM work.
Can accept shift work, accept the supervisor's work arrangement, and have a good attitude.
Complete other work assigned by supervisor.

Strictly abide by the company's various management systems to implement the safety operating procedures of this position, improve self-safety literacy, and work with a certificate.
Comprehensively track the working conditions and operation of high and low voltage power distribution facilities, equipment, and on-site production equipment, and regularly inspect the operation of equipment (air conditioning, power distribution, fire protection, weak current, lighting, water supply and drainage systems, etc.), and keep records, and report problems and abnormalities in a timely manner.
Pay attention to load changes, find abnormal conditions, analyze the causes in a timely manner and report to the supervisor, and carefully keep duty records and substation inspection records;
Be familiar with the company's power distribution equipment conditions, operating methods and safety precautions, pay close attention to the (high and low voltage distribution cabinet) voltage meter, current meter, power factor conversion, and strictly prohibit transformers, circuit breakers, and cables from overloading.
Do a good job of preventing small animals, waterproofing, fire prevention, and moisture prevention to ensure the safe operation of the power distribution system.
Strictly implement the high and low voltage power distribution switching operation ticket system, keep the floor and equipment surface of the distribution room clean, and the switching operation must be supervised by someone on site. It is strictly forbidden for two people to switch at the same time to avoid accidents.
When a power outage is required due to a fault, a power outage notice should be issued to the person in charge of the power-using department in advance. For sudden power outages, the department head and company leaders should be reported, and corresponding measures should be taken.
Responsible for the use and storage of equipment and tools, as well as the management of equipment spare parts.
Complete other tasks temporarily assigned by the leader.

Technical secondary school degree or above, electrical related major;
More than five years of working experience in 35KV high voltage duty operation in chemical enterprises/State Grid/power plants;
Familiar with the relevant provisions and requirements of the electrical safety regulations; familiar with the operation of the 5-defense system; familiar with the relevant knowledge of high-voltage power distribution
High/Low voltage electrician certificate
