Responsibilities

Follow all documented Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
Manage correspondence, reports, and presentations using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, and other relevant software.
Coordinate and manage document control processes for the Exploration Departments.
Order materials, stationery, and equipment supplies for the Exploration and Mining sections.
Order and manage office supplies, equipment, and other resources; maintain adequate inventory levels.
Work together with SC and Finance to initiate PR/PO as per the company system, process invoices and follow up on payment; analyse and produce monthly/quarerly cost reports.
Support the team with photocopying, binding, scanning, filing, and general clerical tasks.
Pick and pack orders accurately for material delivery.
Maintain the organisation of electronic and paper filing systems.
Administer department roster and leave scheduling
Proactively contributes to a safe, organised, and efficient working environment.
Ensure timely entry and updating of critical business data into company systems and databases.
Create, manage, and update documents, spreadsheets, and databases, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with company standards.
Provide clerical and administrative assistance to various teams and departments to support daily business operations and special projects.
Provide timely and constructive feedback to peers and management to promote continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Qualification Requirements:

Certificate or Diploma in Business Administration, Office Management, or a related field (preferred).
Computer Course Certificate

Skills / Knowledge Requirements:

Minimum of 1 year of administrative experience, preferably within mining, geology, or exploration environments.

Your Next Challenge

Reporting to the Nunavut Exploration Coordinator, the Exploration geologist intern is part or the Nunavut Exploration team and collaborates with other members of the department. They are responsible for carrying out surface exploration work on the properties.

Support our team in the planning and overseeing diamond drilling exploration programs;
Process and describe the drill core;
Support our team in the planning and execution of field exploration program, mapping of geological information, channel sampling, structural mapping and prospecting;
Interpret data obtained from observations and develop geological maps which describe the extent and orientation of geological units, structures and ore zones;
Participate in the reporting of drilling and mapping activities;
Participate in the health & safety meetings and ensure that environmental and safety protocols are followed on the work sites.

What You Need To Succeed

Enrolledin a bachelor’s degree in Geology or Geological engineering;
Have knowledge of metallogeny, structural geology, geochemistry and geophysics;
Cultural awareness and understanding of work in the Canadian Arctic are an asset;
Good communication skills in English, written and spoken;
Must have strong interpersonal, communication and team building skills;
Must be autonomous and have good organizational skills;
Hold a valid driver’s license (class 5).

Your Work Schedule

Schedule: 21 days of work in Nunavut, followed by 21 days for transportation and rest; flights departing from all communities in the Kitikmeot region or Edmonton, Alberta.

For this three-month contract we are seeking an individual to take on the role of Cook, Exploration . Your primary mission: to plan and prepare all food production on our site, delivering exceptional meals while maintaining the highest quality and safety standards.

Food Preparation

Your duties will include ensuring timely meal preparation and delivery, managing grocery orders to guarantee the correct quantity and quality of products, and maintaining the facilities and equipment in regulatory compliance. You'll also be responsible for performing meal preparation and cleanup.

Planning and Budgeting

You will plan menus while efficiently managing food and equipment requirements for the kitchen. You will check the quantity and quality of received products, reporting any issues to your supervisor, and recording production and operational data on specified forms. You'll also estimate the numbers of required supplies, from food to ingredients, and handle ordering or requisitioning to guarantee the smoothest kitchen operation possible.

Currently, the schedule is seven days on and seven days off, with each working day consisting of 10 hours for the three-month contract. You'll be responsible for preparing hot lunch and dinner, as well as continental breakfast items for the following morning.

You also have in-depth knowledge and expertise in gold exploration and geology, as well as substantial experience in the management of significant mine and regional exploration budgets and programs. We are seeking someone who has a proven track-record of success in gold exploration, having led teams through the execution of mineral resource growth initiatives at the deposit-scale, and through the regional exploration processes leading to discovery at the district-scale

Primary Responsibilities

Management of the Exploration process, including but not limited to:
- Exploration program planning and budgeting;
- Management and oversight of exploration programs to move targets from grassroots status into reserve status
- Management, leadership, and mentoring of exploration teams, and
- Communication with stakeholders;
Working with the Vice President, Exploration, develop and maintain short-, mid- and long-range planning of exploration strategies, ensuring alignment with the overall strategic business objectives of the Alamos.
In collaboration with the exploration team, lead the design of exploration programs aligned with meeting the objectives of the exploration strategy.
Ensure completion of all technical work programs within approved timelines and budgets and delivery of all required information in a timely manner for the year-end Resource and Reserve process;
Ensuing the collection and maintenance of highest quality data and constant monitoring of the data collection process;
Providing inspirational leadership, mentoring, development, and guidance for the Company’s geoscientists and geotechnical staff;
Ensure that best practices are being employed and that technical expertise and resources are effectively assigned in order to meet project milestones and objectives;
Generation of reports and presentations including the delivery and clear and effective communication of exploration results to a variety of audiences;
Coordinate with external consultants and contractors;
Other related duties as required.

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications And Experience

Undergraduate degree in geology; advanced degree is an asset;
Minimum 15 years’ experience in mineral exploration including with significant gold experience;
An excellent understanding of geological environments, deposit models, and ore-forming processes as it relates to the latest concepts of gold deposit systems;
An ability to think across-scales and to integrate diverse, large datasets;
Proven effective leadership of exploration teams and execution of large exploration projects with the ability to effectively oversee multiple projects concurrently;
Strong presentation skills with the ability to effectively present technical information to a variety of audiences in a clear and concise manner;
Experience in developing and executing on exploration strategies at both the deposit and regional scale;
A demonstrated commitment to safety, environment, and community;
A track record of talent development with strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills;
Exposure to large engineering projects such as Feasibility Studies would be an asset;
Previous work experience with any of the following software platforms; AcQuire, ArcGIS, and Leapfrog
Registered as a Professional Geologist, and meets the requirements of a “Qualified Person” as defined by Canadian Securities Administrators’ National Instrument 43-101 - Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects, and;
The role will require regular travel (>50%) to Alamos’ Exploration Sites
