Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the Senior Business Analyst, you will perform your duties as a member of the Finance departments and collaborate with other departments of the division. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved, while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment. The Business Analyst has an internal management business/accounting perspective and should support the financial reporting group of the accounting department whenever necessary and needed.
- Owner of the budget, forecast and life of mine exercise
- Responsible to reflect mine plan changes in the different costing exercises
- Proactively enforce cost control and variance analysis by department by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts, and budgets; discusses variance analysis to budgets/forecasts
- Participate as a key role in cost saving opportunities
- Prepare analysis to assist management in understanding departmental costs
- Main user of the strategic planning/analysis software at the mine site level
- Preparation and presentation of monthly operations and quarterly business reviews
- Calculate return on investments (IRR, NPV and payback)
- Assisting the Finance Superintendent in analyzing the financial results and kpi of the operation
- Responsible of the value creation projects financial calculations and act as primary liaison for strategic optimization monthly and quarterly reporting
- Identify and track key performance metrics for capital expenditures and participate in long and short range financial planning for capital expenditures
- Assist with economic justifications for capital expenditures as required and ensure appropriate documentation and filing of the Capital Expenditures Request (CER) reporting sheets
- Assist in the month/ quarter and year-end financial closes
What You Need To Succeed
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with CPA designation or mining engineering with a MBA
- 3-7 years of experience in financial/accounting field
- Mining experience is an asset
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office software especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint
- The person should have rather advanced excel knowledge, and experience from valuation modeling is advantageous
- Experience working in a multicultural environment
- Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (Oral and written)
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Capacity to set/attain targets, obtain results and make decisions
Your Work Schedule
- Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. A combination of tele-working with presence at our offices in either Val-d’Or, Rouyn-Noranda or Mirabel, QC. Occasional visits to site may also be required.
