The Power Networks business is involved in conceptual and system studies, owner’s engineer and detail design of HV substations up to 400 kV, Power Plants and Overhead Lines. It also designs Power Networks for Oil/Gas installations, Industrial Cities, Multi Use developments and Heavy industries for Major clients in UK and Middle East.
Due to continued growth in projects on offshore renewable in UK, an opportunity exists for a Lead Designer – Structural to join our offshore renewables team at our GDC office based in Bangalore, working with other talented minds on concept, FEED and detailed design of major offshore assets to assist in the management of the CAD delivery including coordinating with offices locally and overseas.
Civil designer – Substation
Suitable Candidates will possess the following qualifications and experience
- Technical expertise in Drafting works of Civil /Structural Engineering components of an Industrial Project.
- Must have expertise in AUTO CAD software
- Ability to conceptualize details of structural elements
- Sound understanding of drafting aspects of civil engineering, particularly civil engineering structures, foundations (including Pile Foundations) and equipment foundations (Static & Dynamic) related to Power Business – Including Generation and Power Networks
- Lead a team of Junior CAD Assistants
- Awareness of current international detailing standards, especially BS, Euro codes, IBC, ACI, AISC & ASCE codes
- Assist in preparation of BOQ
- Must be able to carry out drafting and detailing works for both RCC and Steel Works.
- Experience of working with Revit Software preferred
- Knowledge of PDMS and Micro-station would be advantageous
- Must have worked in ISO environment with strong QA/QC skills

Mandatory Requirements:
- Diploma in Civil Engineering with 3 to 8 years of relevant industrial experience
- Understand engineering concepts and capable of interfacing with different departments.
Desirable Requirements:
Experience in use of one or all of the following software tools will be an added advantage.
- AutoCAD, REVIT, Civil 3D or any other similar design package.
