Offered as a 5/2 4/3 roster, this newly created position will join the Processing Asset Management Team and be a key contributor to the ongoing success of the 40mtpa Process Plant.
As the Supervisor Asset Management, Reliability Engineering you will lead a team of Engineers to deliver insights into equipment reliability, risk mitigation, operate for reliability, and loss prevention initiatives.
You will be ensuring your team are supported to make key maintenance decisions through best-in-class asset strategies, life cycle cost modelling, and execution of reliability principles.

Key outcomes include:
- Provide direct management of a team of Mechanical and Electrical Reliability Engineers
- Support reliability programs across Newmont’s fixed Asset Management function.
- Collaborate with Asset Management Strategic Planning group to determine asset criticality and prioritise strategy development.
- Drive work to identify critical spares and provide recommendations regarding stock levels.
- Ensure development and timely reviews of risk mitigation plans for critical equipment.
- Demonstrate proactive leadership in achieving a culture aligned with Newmont values.
- Actively promote Newmont’s safety standards and improvement initiatives
- Support the Defect Elimination program to ensure reliability and elimination principles are integrated throughout the Asset Management process.
- Ensure formal root cause analysis approach is utilised to determine effective solutions and ensure learnings are shared for replication of best practice.
- Continuous analysis of maintenance data to determine potential improvements across all Asset Management elements, e.g. Work Management, Materials Management, etc.
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and development for reports.
About You
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, a technical diploma, or equivalent industry experience.
- Understanding of reliability principles and data driven insights.
- Experience in utilising data insights and analysis to drive key business and improvement decisions.
- Experience with manual and computerised maintenance planning systems.
- Experience with change management, communication and knowledge management methodologies.
- Experienced in implementing Asset Management principles and best practices
- Experience using analytical tools and processes that improve Asset Management performance, reliability and safety, reducing operating costs and maximising return on assets.
- Experience with root cause analysis of production loss and development of successful solutions to reduce losses.
- Experience facilitating statutory / regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and ability to drive performance improvement initiatives in a complex and global organisation.
- Demonstrated leadership through previous supervisory positions.
- An ability to quickly assess information to diagnose problems and opportunities, with a track record of strong professional judgement and critical thinking.
- An ability to manage tasks both in-person and virtually.
- Ability to manage and influence stakeholders across different functions and between site and central teams.
- Demonstrated ability to create data-driven business decisions.
