ROLE PURPOSE
The Resource Coordinator will work closely with KMS mining to coordinate the necessary materials and resources in preparation for mining works and contribute to the planning and scheduling process by delivering the right resources that are fit for purpose, cost effective and on time in preparation for work execution to take place.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Assess risks for all tasks and ensure they are controlled before and during task execution.
- Report all incidents and ensure they have been investigated and corrective actions completed on time.
- Act on all corrective actions assigned to you or under your jurisdiction and ensure timely completion
- Investigate all environmental incidents in assigned work areas and prepare reports with recommendations for the Departmental Manager for onward submission to the Environmental Manager or his representative
- Track logistics operations to ensure timely delivery and minimize downtime.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction in resource management while maintaining efficiency and quality.
- Support financial planning by providing data on resource costs and forecast future resource needs.
- Coordinate transportation of resources to and from the mining site
- Track the stock of materials (e.g., explosives, fuel, spare parts) and ensure timely reordering.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of materials and equipment to prevent loss, damage, or theft.
- Maintain records of materials used and inventory levels and prepare reports for procurement and financial teams.
QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE AND TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Applied Science, Built Environment or related field with minimum of 3 years of relevant mining industry experience.
- Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Maintenance, Civil, Construction Management etc.) with minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
Experience
- Three to Six (3-6) years’ experience in planning or resource coordination roles.
- Must have Relevant Mining industry Experience.
- Experience in Projects and contractor management.
Technical Competencies
- Coordinate with operations, engineering, purchasing to attain production goals.
- Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data related to resource allocation, usage, and performance.
- Ability to create and track budgets, analyze costs, forecast future resource needs, and provide reports on financial performance related to resource utilization.
- Analyze changing material demand patterns.
- Interface with buyers and forecast material integrity.
- Analyze SAP generated forecasts on reasonableness and accuracy.
- Determine, research and correct material inventory discrepancy causes
